Ok so Iam finally putting out another post. A few weeks ago I was so excited that I finally sat down and figured out the whole blog thing. Now I just need to get in the habit of posting new ones. I love reading everyone elses, I forget about mine. Sooo I thought I would post my latest experience.
I was able to do a box garden this summer, (thanks again Jane for your boxes) it has been so fun! It was one of my new "stay at home mom" goals. We planted 2 kinds tomatoes, banana peppers, green peppers, squash, cucumbers, corn and thyme. It started off well and looked amazing. Then it got really hot and I tried watering it by hand a couple times a day. Towards the end of the summer I looked at my corn and realized that I had only 2 midget corns and the rest just didnt finish growing. So I evaluated my sprinkers and realized that the boxes werent getting enough water for the corn to thrive. For some reason the others didnt need as much water and did great. My goal this winter is to do some farmer research and have a better garden next year.

This year was our first garden and if I would have just been better about checking on it. We had a drip system in place and so I really forgot about ours. We had great tomatoes, carrots, canteloupe, squash, cucumbers, beets, cabbage and our corn didn't turn out either. We didn't pick it soon enough. We had squash bugs really really bad. That's my goal for next year too!
Good for you! I wish I had a garden--it is something I haven't figured out yet in the AZ heat!
I think the graden's look great--even if they didn't produce a lot :)!!

Way to go. I also had a bunch of summer yard projects... but garden is next summer. Any tips? Cute picture of your little girl. Shes a doll!
That is such a cute picture of Mia. Terri....you inspire me with your garden. That is definitely on my checklist of things to do.
We need to get together soon!!!
Love ya!!
Hey...it's Amanda (Pfundstein) Swinn. Saw your blog on Jen's! You and your family are adorable! Looks like everything is going great for you!!!
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I'VE EVER SEEN!!! Even the "small" corn on the cobs are adorable, really, hey - you got two, right? It could have been worse!
So, I am planting bulbs in my garden pots today - you gotta get on the band wagon Terri - there's a great selection at Costco. Then in March/April you'll look out your windows and see dozens of flowers coming up in those boxes, then just take them out before garden season...
Thanks again for my basket of veggies - one gardener to another, you are FABULOUS!
Terri, I've been meaning to get back to you from the cute comment you put on our blog. I know we need to get a girls lunch together or something so we can ALL catch up! If you have time next week, let me or Nikki know! Mia is looking so so grown up! And, funny how blogs work... I know Amanda Pfundsten Swinn too.

Looks fabulous! I'll have to come over and check it out. Love, Jackie
